The wall of my New York apartment

The left-hand photo is by Helen Levitt, the right-hand one by Lewis Hine (both museum copies: I couldn’t possibly afford original prints). Above them are two out of my three shelves of NYRB Classics, a series perfectly designed—in uniform size and varied colors—to suit a small NY apartment. And just about everything in the entire quirky series is worth reading. (I acquired them all individually, by the way, not by the yard.)
