Theo explains

Day 2 of the trip started with an early  sunrise on the beach nearby and after a well earned breakfast we had a walking tour through the dunes of Ameland, near the so called Eendenkooi.
And as always this tour is led by Theo Kievit, a very nice and kind man. Born and raised on the island. He is a biologist who can't stop talking about nature, and especially the smallest part of it. Butterflies and tiny plants are his favorits. He has discovered and indexed over 200 species of plants, insects and butterflies through the years and professors from all over the world come to him for advice. This man knows a lot.
On top of that he tells his stories in a way that attracts everybodies attention. And just as on the previous trip (back in april) he stole the hearts of everybody in the group.
Theo led us around until 12.30. By then he had to say goodbye, he had a next appointment in the church where he is the sacristan as well.

We had lunch in restaurant 't Koaikershuus and after that we gave the group some time off.
At 16.30 we all gathered in the hotel for the first photo review.
I gave all kind of tips and tricks about composition and even threw in a quick photo edit here and there to trigger them to go even further with their photography. It amazed me how amazed everybody was after the slightest changes in a photo. Setting the black and white point in a photo made some jaws drop.
Diner in a restaurant nearby, after the photo review, was followed by evening/night photography in the village Nes. Once it was completely dark, Johan and I went on with light painting.
We wrote words in the sky with the lamp in our phones while the group exposed. Very funny.
I couldn't resist to write stupid words. Not everybody understood why they suddenly saw TEXEL on the back of their camera.
Well, maybe it's time to go back to the hotel again.
