Budapest

Spent most of the day exploring the Cathedral area. Every where you look there are beautiful buildings and statues. Looked round the national gallery, which was brilliant, especially the photography exhibition.

By late afternoon we felt like we'd walked miles so we hired a tandem to explore Margit island which is in the middle of the Danube, accessed via a bridge off a bridge. Its a lovely green space with Japanese gardens, open spaces and dancing fountain displays. We enjoyed mojitos at a rooftop bar before heading back to the hotel to get changed for dinner.

We went to the 'pest' side of the river for dinner, then went to a famous ruin bar. Was an incredible place with lots of different rooms and bars (all housed in a ruin). Really good band playing.
