Polochara, South Uist

This is the south-western tip of the island, Looking into the atlantic and towards the islands of Barra and Eriskay.  For once the wind has dropped to a moderate breeze; the lock surface was like a mirror. Mr. B was out in the kayak by 9am. Despite a valiant attempt, no brown trout were caught, so it would have to be smoked salmon for lunch
We decided to take a look at the Polocahar Inn to see if we fancied going back for an evening meal. But the bar doors were locked. Mr B went into the hotel reception to ask for the opening times and voila, the lovely lasy came and opened up for us. To add a cherry to the day, the dogs were also welcome. After an hour passed in friendly chit chat with some more customers, we went to walk on the beach which is right outside the hotel. This was very different to the long sweeping sands of Lewis. Beautiful shades in the rocks and sea weed.
The dogs had wonderful time playing in the very calm water, and I collected a couple more shells and 2 rocks

We've decided to leave a day early, as then we'll have time to get sorted before he has to go away again for work. It's going to take about 6 hours to get home once we get off the ferry - and that leaves at 05.30!!! So,  a long day ahead of us then

Tomorrow we will walk to Flora MacDonald's house.
