Church of Storms.

Today we decided to visit the Lizard, the most Southerly point of the UK. On our way there we stopped off in the little Village of Gunwalloe to visit this charming and unusual church of St Winwaloe. It is situated only a few yards from the start of the beach and nestles in the sand dunes. This 13th century church is unusual as it consists of three halls and is not in the cruciform shape and the Bell Tower is a separate building just to one side of the church! In side it was small and very sweet and had an unusual Alter made of granite, which is very appropriate for this coast line. See extra.

After this stop we headed for the Lizard which was just lovely in the glorious sunshine. We wandered around enjoying the spectacular view of the sea. Then it was time for a fishy lunch in a little cafe which was excellent.

We meandered home in time for a drink before heading down to the harbour for our last evening. Another delicious fish dinner again!
