Q and Shep

Lewis was practicing with his new otoscope today when he noticed something odd in Shep’s eye. Thankfully one of our vets is an eye specialist so Lewis took him up to see her. After a good look she thinks it could be the start of a cataract at the very, very early stages. It’s barely noticeable but once you know it’s there you can see it. We are going to try a course of medication for a disease called e cunicili, a parasite that rabbits can have that is sometimes the cause of cataracts. It’s not a nice thing and Shep doesn’t show any other signs of that, so it’s just a precaution. Rabbits cope quite well with partial sight, so hopefully Shep won’t be too bothered by this. Q was giving him some love anyway.
