Busking for Beer Money

Backdated Blip 24:

Back in the balmy warmth of a late July evening, was sitting out in front of our local Wetherspoons, legs dangling over the Avon (like you do...)

A musician that I know of, who I have photographed at Open Mics, gets his slide guitar out, portable battery operated amp and gives an amazingly frenzied rendition of something akin to Nigel Kennedy. He did this for just this tiny group of people, to raise a few coins to buy a pint. You can see a couple looking over, stopped to hear what was going on.

Being outside of the group, I took just one pic, this one. He then did look over after and recognised me as the bloke who takes all of Salisbury's music pictures, which was very flattering, as I don't take them all. As he's never spoken to me before, or acknowledged me in gesture, this was really nice. I guess he's just cripplingly shy and speaks through his music.

Before uploading to facebook, I added this rather hasty and obvious block of colour saturation but an artist friend really liked it, so I never changed it back.
