Nicky and her Nikon

It was another busy day - all my days seem busy lately...after I had finished the daily pile of ironing, it was time to take Xena to her puppy training class. These classes are with a trainer I used with Murdoch, and when we got Xena I immediately booked onto her classes. The classes we go to on Saturday are ones run at a dog training/kennel centre and your puppy cannot stay there unless it has had training, so we thought we would do the training there too - but I have decided not use their kennel facilities, although it is still good to do extra training so that she is well socialised to avoid possible problems as she grows up. The training was very good today and she gave good advice regarding jumping up, the bane of most dog owners' lives!

I got back home in time for the alarm engineer (I always wince at the loose term of that word 'engineer', it is disrespectful to truly qualified engineers out there) to service our alarm. Some things needed changing so it was good that he came today.

After the afternoon walk, P the dog walker I was recommended arrived to meet Xena. He is a Vizsla owner and his one partner in the business also came along as she too is a Vizsla owner. They were such lovely people, I instantly liked them. They will do ad hoc dog walking for me in case I need to go out for the half day/day - most dog walkers around here want you to commit to a weekly time for them to walk your dog and I don't want something as fixed as that. They will also home board your dog in one of their homes when you go away, and for puppies they prefer the puppy to stay at it's own home and someone will stay over and look after it there. I think this could be a good solution for us.

I also went to Waitrose to collect some bed linen I had ordered for Luke from John Lewis - I do love that Click and Collect service they offer.* I ordered it yesterday when I was having my ditsy feather brained day so of course I forgot the size of his bed in his flat and ordered the wrong size - I will return it tomorrow and I have already ordered the correct size.

Now off to cook supper before everyone comes home from work....

* For non UK readers, Waitrose is a grocery store and John Lewis is a department store in the same group. You can buy anything you need from John Lewis and it gets delivered for free to your nearest Waitrose store to collect when you are doing you grocery shopping
