Teaching an old dog new moves
Biscuit has been well again today, which is a relief. It is worrying, when the old man is not on top. He is still not keen on his raw food, but he is eating kibbles and bread with good appetite, so I am not too worried about it. I think he has had a bit of a stomach bug these last days and it takes a bit longer for such an old dog to recover fully. He was keen to eat treats in the training hall today and thrilled to be allowed to do a little bit of easy training.
Doggie is here for the weekend, so she came with us to the training hall after work.
Hero practised his new routine, Gollum worked on accuracy in his heelwork, Biscuit practised his pushing the ball across the room and then there was Doggie...
I wanted to do something with her, but not something Helle is already doing. So I started to teach her to push the ball - the same trick as Biscuit is doing. She soon realised that picking the ball up did not give treats, but pushing it did... She was such a good girl.
There is a video of her here!
I also made a new video of Biscuit - click here! He pushes it a lot further than Doggie as he has had more time to practise :-)
See you tomorrow
