The Grand Tour

We took our visitors on a grand sightseeing tour of the Lakes today.  We drove to Rydal and Grassmere first and introduced them to the gingerbread shop, then over Dunmail Raise to Keswick.  After a bite to eat we went down Borrowdale and over the Honister Pass to Buttermere returning to Keswick via Newlands Hawse.  Finally we drove to Ullswater via Matterdale and returned home over the Kirkstone Pass.  It was a glorious sunny day so it gave them a good first taste of the Lake District.  Next time they come I have told them to bring some boots!
