Run, commuter, run!

She invested 1.3 precious seconds in the removal of her shoes, in an attempt to then gain speed to run up the stairs to the platform. 
This is not Japan or the Netherlands. Timetables belong to the realm of fairy tales. Or wishful thinking. Not knowing when the next train will turn up leads to heightened states of anxiety, when one always fears than one is just about to miss one's train. 
Her instinct was right. There was a train pulling up at the platform as she rushed up the stairs. 
A train going in the other direction. 
A train that I missed. Because I paused to photograph her...
