Knives reimagined

We had a trip to Rochester today to see the knife angel in the cathedral gardens, a thai curry lunch and then to relax in the gardens of restoration house.

The knife angel sculpture is 8mtrs high and made from 100,000 seized / surrendered by / to the police. It's touring the UK but not London as their mayor didn't want it (too embarrassing apparently!).

Restoration house (extras) is more my cup of tea as it's far more cheerful. It is a late 16c mansion house with beautiful gardens. King Charles II stayed here on the eve of the monarchy restoration in 1660. We only visited the gardens as have seen the house before, the gardens have been extended and now include a renaissance style area incorporating the original Tudor walls. So lovely for us both to relax here for a few hours. The current owners have sympathetically restored the house, gardens and Tudor walls and open to the public for a small charge during the summer for 2 days a week until the end of September.
