SITTIN' ON THE THE DOCK OF THE DAY

Lovely morning.  I took G to the Dock Museum in Barrow this morning.  We arrived a little early so went for a gentle stroll alongside the Docks hence the view above.

Once it opened we went in for coffee to start with then spent some time looking around.  It's a lovely little museum, well medium-sized I guess and tells the Story of Barrow and The Docks, also small sections on The Vikings and Barrow in The Blitz.

There was an art exhibition on the lower ground floor so we popped down to have a look round and a chat to the resident artist of the day, who is a Barrow man and very interesting.  Whilst there G had a dizzy spell but luckily it was very quiet and there is a very large bench.  So he rested there whilst I finished looking at the exhibits whilst keeping the eyes in the back of my head on him.  We had to use the lift back up to the ground floor though.  So we had to abandon the idea of a further stroll and went straight back to the car.  This is fairly normal, we often have to change our plans but at least we got to see the museum.

I decided to take him for a drive along the coast road as it is always very pleasant and quiet and the sun was still shining and warm.

We called into the Fisherman's Arms in Baycliff for lunch.   When G has a a dizzy spell he needs water or some sort of refreshment, so this fitted the bill nicely.  He was quite dizzy when we arrived in there but the Appletize helped.

It is an art deco building and the lounge area is very art deco as is the bar in the dining area.  The food and service was excellent and it was nice and quiet - a few diners but not packed.  We went for the "smaller" portions and were glad we did as they were a nice size for a lunch time.  I would recommend it for locals or anyone in the area.

We then just came home as G needed too.

I keep getting a darn cough and slight sore throat - DON'T PANIC I say to myself, if I'm going to get a cold, get it now before York in two weeks time.

I've found out there is a blipmeet in Ambleside next Tuesday, but sadly I won't be able to go as I'm already having a mini blip-meet with Cumbrialass (as long as the cold comes to nothing as I wouldn't inflict colds on anyone).

Anyway that's all for today.

Thank you for dropping by.  Hope you are all well, will try and catch up with your blips now.  Take care everyone. See you all tomorrow.
