Prioritizing
Today I went to see my former therapist so I could sort out all the things that are preoccupying and stressing me out. We stopped therapy several years ago, but I usually feel the need to talk her once or twice a year, because she knows me so well and is great at helping me focus and plan, and she never judges. After we talked, I was able to prioritize what I need to do.
I'm putting the active job hunt on the back burner for now, but I will be looking for writing samples I can use when I pick it up again. I will sit down with my financial planner and sort out just what funds I have and how to maximize their income growth. I will go to Sylvia's Swimwear and get a well-fitting swimsuit (if it exists) so I can start exercising in the pool again and reduce my leg pain. I will try to figure out a plan for advertising myself as a writing coach and mentor, which is really what I most want to do.
I am most productive when I can invest all my energy and focus into one thing, so prioritizing things will let me do that. And I will look again at the novel that's not yet been finished and the book that's been sitting as an outline for many years, to see if it might really be possible to pick up and finish one of them.
Right now I'm just tired out. Here is a lovely bouquet I found at Central Market that I thought you might enjoy.
