STROUD's #EARTHSTRIKE4CLIMATE/GLOBAL STRIKE

A march came to the town centre as part of the Global Strike. Fittingly it started at the Anti-Slavery Arch, a commemorative memorial to the Emancipation Act of 1833 which ended slavery in British Colonies.

Extinction Rebellion started here in Stroud ('Stroud, the gentle Cotswold town that spawned a radical protest') and its young and old came out in force. I only caught the gathering outside the Subscription Rooms but am glad I savoured the atmosphere. My favourite banner was 'Its so bad the introverts are here'.
