SILLY SATURDAY - LET ME PLAY YOU A TUNE!
When Mr. HCB brought his long tromboncino in from the garden on Wednesday, I knew straightaway that I wanted to use it for the Silly Saturday challenge. Mind you, it hasn’t been easy leaving it until today, because I wanted to use it in our stirfry on Thursday evening, but I resisted cutting it.
We did go out and buy the pond liner this morning, but were given a very useful tip by the young man in the aquatic department at the garden centre. Instead of paying about £25 for a layer to go underneath the pond liner, he suggested using old carpet. This suited us, because we had quite a long roll in the garage, so straight after lunch we were out there measuring out and lining the pond and then we put in the liner.
Mr. HCB decided that he had done enough and anyway, the sun had come round and was beating down on us, so he is now sitting with his feet up watching the T20 Cricket Final - and well deserved too!
However, before we came indoors, I took a photograph for today’s challenge - and here is Mr. HCB giving me a tune on his tromboncino. It measures just over 2 feet and weighs 4lbs 6oz, and hopefully will do us about three or four good stir fries.
You can’t beat home grown vegetables!

P.S. Thank you for all your kind comments for yesterday's beautiful roses - I stayed and watched Gardeners' World with Mum last night and was quite tired when I got home, so went straight to bed!
