'Dry as a Chip'

We haven't yet had a single drop of rain this year yet, and everything is super dry. As you can see in this image it wouldn't take too much to start off a fire.

Today was another very hot day with mid 30's temperatures. It looks like by Wednesday this week we might be in for 1 day or relief, but who knows if we'll get any rain?

I spotted this small pod of kangaroos first thing this morning from our family room window, so grabbed the camera for a quick pre-work blip shoot.

I was trying to capture them as they jumped over the neighbours wire fence but they all turned out a bit blurry and unusable, so setteld for this nice calm shot of them.

First day back to work today, at least the office was nice and cool as we eased our way back into another working year. There were only 2 of us started back today, everyone else will follow next Monday.

My thoughts go out to our neighbours down south in Tasmania tonight as they are still trying to control some very serious bushfires there. So far no reports of any deaths, but there has been hundreds of properties and small towns almost completely wiped off the map.
