Fly Fisherman's flies.

These flies were tied by me some twenty years ago, they are a few of the hundreds I have. I keep meaning to return to fishing however my local river, which I could reach on foot within half an hour, is not the river it was. Effluent leaked into the river in the 1990's destroyed fly life and the river did not recover fully. It use to be that sea trout use to spawn in the river, it was possible to see shoals waiting under the two bridges in Maryport waiting for the conditions to be right, before going up stream.. sadly no longer..
