Folly, Saltfleetby House

A very expensive way to keep the weather off a staircase. Built 200 years ago, before the surrounding trees were allowed to grow, it is thought it was built to show off (obviously) and to be able to view the owner's boats at Saltfleet Haven and his workers in the surrounding fields. Allegedly, Grimsby Dock Tower (built rather later, in 1852) could also have been sighted on a clear day.
The owners provide access one day a year.
