The hills about Langholm

Over 20 of us met up in Langholm this morning, en route for a weekend in Moffat with the Haltwhistle Walkers. In total, we were a party of 37 by Friday evening, including a few non-walkers.

Our friend Harry Kay had offered the route we took for today's short walk. It was a beautiful walk but was very hot and there was no wind. I struggled up the hills and was a bit scared going down again. I made it though and the views at the top were wonderful. (Real "top of the world" views.)

Our hotel is in the main street of Moffat and I have a small, but perfectly formed, single en-suite. Quiet and comfortable too. There is wifi and a good bar. They even had one barrel of real ale on tap for us.
