The ups and downs of the Eden Valley

- Lots of beautiful rolling countryside
- Liz's first roady puncture
- Two cafes
- A gale-force headwind 
- Pure, pure blue sky

We've been staying near Penrith, me in the van and Liz in a b&b near Langwathby. 

Last night, we went to a pub that I visited about eighteen years ago and had jam roly-poly in the garden sitting with lovely cyclist, David, who I'd met while doing the Coast2Coast cycle route.  It was a heatwave and I was about to go up Hartside and decided it was time to stock up. There was no jam roly-poly on the menu last night but it was good pub fare and an enjoyable evening.
