Machen Mountain

Our granddaughter Amelia's first ever night away from parents went incredibly well with her falling asleep about 8pm after a eating quite a bit, waking about 1am when she came into our bed and went straight back to sleep until 7am.  She was happy to stay in bed and have her early morning bottle, have books read to her, whilst we enjoyed a cuppa.

Her parents collected her mid afternoon and we then went out for a local walk. Although overcast the rain held off. The blipfoto is of a friends farm with views of Machen mountain and mast and part of the village.

The mountain is still devoid of trees after the Welsh Government ordered the deforestation of trees over large tracts of land in Wales. It was beautifully green a couple of years ago and we are now awaiting nature to 'green' it!
