CaixaForum Madrid

After yesterday's  late arrival from Mallorca we spent a lazy morning recovering. We had a good late lunch in a small nearby restaurant. The blip features our late outing, with  Marylee in the entry lobby ofthe CaixaForum--a museum converted from a power plant (like London's Tate Modern but much smaller). There we visited two excellent exhibitions. One (which closed today) was on Olga Picasso--the artist's first wife, with many works of art, photos, letters and other archival materials. The second show, entitled "Luxury: From the Assyrians to Alexander the Great", covered the period 900 to 300 BC,  with over 200 objects from the British Museum in London.
