Violent Waters

Tuttle Jnr and myself went to the Paphos water park and had whale of a time. The park itself could be seen from the aeroplane as we landed in Paphos last week (all the kids one one side of the aircraft screamed "oh, water park!" much to the annoyance to the parents). As far as water parks go, this one is up there amongst the best ever. We were up and down non-stop as there so many rides to choose from. Though we did find time for a quick latte and slush then carried on with the wet adventure. We soon had to call it a day..... MacDonald's, the Cypriot way. McFlurries of course!

We had enough time to take the scenic route via the west coast as we searched for the Edros III shipwreck. This could also be seen from the aeroplane as we landed. What we did not know was that there are two shipwrecks and the first one was not the Edros. We visted it anyway and took pictures, still thinking "this can't be the one we saw on Google maps". It lookedlike a large fishing boat (see extra). We then headed back up the coast road, then after a few more miles there was the Edros!! Despite getting a decent view from the road we still had difficulty getting to it as there were no signs for it even though it is a popular tourist attraction with a nearby cafe/bar/restaurant etc. We haven't come across anything like it, being so close to such an object subjected to so much stormy violence. The Edros III was ran aground by stormy waters in 2013. Thankfully all the crew were airlifted to relative safety by an RAF helicopter and fuel removed later. As far as we know nobody can get on board, though there are temptations for some, I'm sure. I took many shots with my 50mm (my wide angle lens does not work with my Pentax so I had to make do with stitching together a series of shots. Quite pleased with the tight 50mm shot in the extra which sums up the fact that people want to visit the Edros.

Finally we headed back to the villa via the mountain route. Stunning views all over. We got back in time for tea and a Keo. Nice.
