My son foregoes wellingtons to take these out in wind, rain, on the beach and through muddy fields.

I guess that there was a time years ago when I would have worn such impractical footwear; a pair of Green Flash tennis shoes I had as a teenager spring to mind. When in life do we change to prize comfort and practicality over making a fashion statement?
