Growing Out of a Rock......

This rock is near the Mail Center, which is walked by, by nearly everyone getting their mail!    I wonder how many see what they are looking at?

      It's a giant, 4 foot around and just as high.  On the top there are pine needles and dust, dirt.  Every time it rains the craigs and crannies fill with water.  The wind blows seeds around, some landing on the rock.  Since the rock gets direct sunlight, everything is there for germination.  Out of the rock there is a ragweed plant growing, reaching for more sun, getting ready to go to seed.  Other weeds have germinated there, with lovely green leaves.  Earlier this year, there was some wild flowers growing there.  

A lot of things can grow out of a rock.......
