Brittle on white

Becalmed

caught out of season
a leaf moored in the snow
yearns to sail swirling
on brilliant brisk air
it valiantly stretches
all brittle and brown
begging the breezes
to ferry it round

I had an early morning walk in the Hanover Cemetery after the train station drop off. It was bright and brisk and quite beautiful. I watched a big red tailed hawk sunning himself in a tree. I couldn't catch his image, I didn't have the Nikon with my long lens. BUT, I was not without camera, oh no. I did have the lovely mirror-less Leica X2 so easily tucked under my jacket, around my neck. Needless to say I'm having fun with my lavishly lovely Christmas gift. This image is straight out of the camera, set to vivid and cropped.
