The Walk Up & Out Of Vernazza

Awoke to tremendous thunderstorm this morning so we weren’t in a hurry to get up and out. Once the rain lightened we followed a walk around Levanto to see the old walls and historic sites.

We then hopped on the train to visit the last two of the five villages. First stop Vernazza and it’s beautiful harbour. After a coffee and an ice cream we walked the first part of the walk to Monterosso up and out of the village and stunning views (main blip).

Next stop Corniglia and the 386 steps up to the village from the train station were tough going in the now bright sunshine and 26 deg heat. Well worth it though and we had a lovely lunch overlooking the terraced vineyards.

As the weather was looking so good, we opted to head to Manarola to catch the sunset. The evening light was stunning but just as the sun started to set it dropped behind some clouds and completely flattened the sunset...much to the disappointment of the other photographers all lined up along the path.
