A rainbow day

Back blip Day 2
We had a Good nights sleep and a very good breakfast. I would recommend staying here at Lochview, Lairg, especially as they have a friendly pet duck called Ducky :)
Our first stop was the bird hide just a few minutes away by car. We waited for a shower to pass and then made our way down the soggy path.A lovely walk in sunshine, lots of heather and fungi again with long tailed tits chattering away in the trees.
We got to the bird hide and sat down and the weather changed again to wind and heavy rain so not a lot of birds around but still a nice view.Waited for the rain to go and walked back to the car under a rainbow :)
We drove through stunning Mackay country stopping at the Altnaharra Hotel for a coffee. Nice to relax in the comfortable lounge, just us there :)
On wards and upwards with several stops to take photos, people are missing out if they do the NC500.
At Tongue we went for a walk with great views of Ben Loyal. We just past two walkers going in the other direction.A very pretty walk, butterflies were out in the sunshine and a wren hopped about in the bushes.Wet under foot abit further on so we returned to the car.
We had lunch in the Hotel, I had a chicken and bacon baguette and Mike had a burger.
A walk on Farr beach followed, fantastic waves , we spent a while there.
On to Thurso, surprising how far away that was.Picked up a meal deal from Tesco, filled the car with petrol and retired to the hotel for the night.Not quite the same as last night but it was ok.
