Today's the day ……………………… to shelter

We've got used to having good weather on a Tuesday - which is the day for the Tongland Abbey dig.

It has never had to be cancelled and it has run from April right through the summer till now.  Sadly, there's only another couple of weeks before all the trenches will have to be filled in and the site returned to its original state.  It's unlikely that the dig can continue in the future, which is even sadder.

The forecast for today wasn't great - but the rain held off until the middle of the afternoon and we managed to get a fair bit done.  This is Roger, sheltering under the big fir tree during the afternoon tea break …………………..
