RAINY TUESDAY INTERSPERSED WITH A LITTLE SUN

The rain hammered down all night long and it was still raining when we woke up, so we guessed that the workmen wouldn’t be here, at least this morning.  There were occasional lulls in the rain, but we had no word from them, so didn’t expect them.

Our older son, Martyn, came for lunch today and once again, when we were in the conservatory, it hammered down and we could hardly hear ourselves speak.

However, when he left, the sun was shining so we half-expected the men might come to do half a day’s work - but sadly they didn’t so we hope they will be here tomorrow, if it’s not raining.

As Martyn was leaving, I decided to take a quick shot of him and Mr. HCB next to the JCB - his remark was “Well, it’s not moving, but at least it’s not a bin!”  This is a reference to me taking photographs when he and Jules were younger - Martyn always used to say, “If it doesn’t move, Mum even takes photographs of a litter bin!” I did think of cropping him out of this shot, but thought better of it!

Thank you for all your kind comments about my Mono Monday knitting shot - I was at Mum’s for most of the evening and had to get a nurse to come round because she has several pressure sores that were bleeding - and the carer thought they should be seen sooner rather than later.  It was almost 9.30 before the Community Nurse came, and I was very tired after that, so apologies for not responding to your lovely comments.

It's raining heavily again now, so when it stops, I will pop over to see Mum and check she is all right for the evening.  No point in going yet though, I would get drenched just walking from the car!

“Heavy rains remind us of
     challenges in life.
Never ask for lighter rain,
just pray for a better umbrella.
That’s attitude!”
