It's a Pear

Yes, it's a pear.  But not just a pear.  It's my pear.  I grew it.  Which may not sound like much of an achievement to you, but I planted the tree about four years ago and this is the first (hopefully) edible fruit I've had from it.  And it's the only one this year.  I had a couple last year but in accordance with the advice during the long hot summer and drought, I watered the garden with waste washing up water.  The pears tasted of soap.

It's still a bit hard so I'll leave it a while before I try it.  I'll have to time it right though; pears tend to be hard, then perfect for about five minutes, and then they go soft.
