On High Sweden Bridge

Met with Clickychick, Jerra, Technophobe, LooseCanon, Derwentlass, Valerie12, Intothehills, Missy and Fairweathergirl at the Applepie Bakery and Cafe for coffee and bites to eat.

After a suitable time had elapsed we made our way in the increasingly heavy rain to High Sweden Bridge where today’s blip was taken. The descent was more rapid than the ascent as we were ready for lunch at Zeffirelli’s, where we were joined by SueMiddleton and Fastaperture. We dripped our way into the restaurant, much to the displeasure of the staff I suspect although they didn’t show it!

The lunch became long and more leisurely as the rain continued to fall. By general consensus we decided to abandon the afternoon plan to walk up and around Loughrigg.

However, despite the weather we had an enjoyable time catching up other blippers, putting faces and names to aliases and trying to persuade an interloper to join Blipfoto. She has a name in mind so may well take the plunge. Lookout for Goldfinch.

A very pleasant day all around which was brought to a fine conclusion with an excellent meal and great company with friends who live near Grange Over Sands and whom we had not seen for over a year and for much longer than that in the Lakes.
