Teignmouth's Grand Pier

Opened in 1867 this pier is a very important piece of Teignmouth's history.
It has survived severe storms, the last most notable in 2014 when structural damage caused the brief closure of this much loved tourist attraction.

A very sad edit. My friend who had to return home  from her holiday on Monday, has lost her fight with cancer. She fought with strength, determination and dignity. A wonderful person who will be missed by many.
I am looking after her lovely dogs for a while and am so pleased that she came home and  had the chance to see them again.
