Autumn

Whilst I have been incarcerated in our living room, autumn has struck Suddenly the beeches leaves have turned.
Ages ago we invited our neighbours from below for an apero on a Sunday. we then lost track of which Sunday. There was a thought it was today but careful inspection of their house from our balcony at 5pm revealed no returning cars - they have been to Brittany. - so we got on with a variety of jobs.
At 7pm Ruadh started her barking and I looked down the drive to see the aforementioned neighbours parking their car. The length and state of our drive at least gave us a few minutes to sort out the terrace and try to look as if we were expecting them. I think we got away with it but as Wellington once, allegedly but probably didn 't,  said, it was a "damn close-run thing".
