Middleton

We met John and Jennie at the Green Man in Middleton village.  After a nice meal, and pint, we drove over to the RSPB reserve at Middleton Lakes.  It was not possible to walk all the way to the main lake as both the paths leading there were flooded.  There has been a lot of rain and the river was running high and fast.

We walked as far as we could then returned to Middleton Hall and the cafe in the little shopping courtyard they have there.

Although foreshortened I still saw a selection of birds on our walk, four of them here....pheasant, coot or moorhen, great tit and nuthatch.
