Saintes

A trip into Saintes for a wander round.

Went to see the Cathedral only to find that it was closed for safety reasons! Authorities afraid that the dome is unsafe and likely to collapse!
It is the most solid, grounded building I think I have ever seen!

The market was in full swing and went on for miles (literally) all the way down the main street.

But such a grey day. The sky was grey, the buildings were grey, the river was grey, the pavements and roads were grey. I wish the sun would shine!
