Bitten off more than he can chew

There is an egg cup full of fresh beaver gnawings at the base of this poplar that was started in late winter, early spring. But now the beavers have plentiful supplies of ripened maize/corn in a field just 10 metres away that is keeping them occupied. the stream is full of whole 2 metre high stalks.

If you look at the geotag map in "satellite" mode, you may see the field is the only one in the area west of the river (marked by the line of trees). It belongs or at least is rented by a farmer not from our village so I am more than happy for the beavers to take as much as they can. This area is not arable land! (Those who don't know me - I hate maize/corn which is ruining our environment & poisoning our food chain).

UK news remains depressing, Chief ******** is beavering away at finding a way to achieve his ends. Think he now wants Civil riots so that he can declare a state of emergency & close down parliament again. Don't be surprised if Conservatives start placing job ads in the papers asking for a Guy Fawkes on a short term contract basis.
