The gloves are off

The gardening gloves have finally dried out after yesterday's tidying, cutting back and chopping up of the Christmas tree.

There's something a liitle sad about the garden just now, all bare and without anything much green, but I did spy the first shoots of Spring bulbs poking up through the soil - not long to go.

Unfortunately we don't have the space to support a living Christmas tree in our postage stamp, but we do recycle ours onto the fire. It makes for brilliant kindling and continues to scent the flat long after the festive season is over.
