Toilet Facilities!

Today we managed to clean some cages, including this one, for the "four ladies" as they're known. Meg and Alison came to us as fosters, and ended up staying, and Bonnie and Molly are retired breeder does who came to live out their days as family pets now they've finished passing their beautiful genes on to babies!

They're a fabulous foursome, and all got on well straight away - within 10 minutes of meeting they were all firm friends!

The ratties have litter trays in the corners of their cages - it makes cleaning out much easier, and, by and large, most of them actually use the trays.

I usually put a budget toilet roll in each cage - they love to tear it up and pull it off the roll, then use it to line their beds with - it's much cheaper than buying commercial bedding, and they get all the entertainment of playing with it.

In this cage I hung the toilet roll on a spare chain left over from a chew toy. After I'd done it I realised it was hanging above the litter tray!

All facilities provided for the ratties - they'll be wanting hand cream by the washbasins next!!!!
