Lunch date

Chose to drive into Manchester this morning to meet up with the girls for our quarterly lunch date, as the forecast was for rain....... which other than an odd shower, didn't really materialise, as you can see!!

I walked around for a little while, looking at the lovely sights in the sunshine, this being one of them.........the China Town archway. There is always something going on in Manchester..... at the moment security is tight with lots of road closures in readiness for the Conservative Party Conference at weekend.

We met up at a cafe called Leaf on Portland Street, which was new to all six of us.....we were two girls down this time. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks, good service and ambience.......another visit sometime for sure.

We all said our goodbyes having had a great catch up, plenty of laughter, hard to believe we've all been friends for almost 40years!

Got back to the car, did get caught in a shower! Noticed my bare wrist....thought I'd lost my watch, but turned out the clasp must have come undone in the car, found it down the side of the seat, phew!!

Getting out of the car park and city centre was a nightmare......I changed routes a couple of times, all a waste of time, both the East Lancs and the M602/62 were almost at a standstill.... I was strung so tight by the time I got home, I almost snapped lol!

We went quizzing tonight too, a bit of a weakened team, only 3 of 6, our score reflected it!

Supposed to be going to the Races tomorrow with friends.......the forecast is awful!!!!
