A Peaceful scene in Birsay
Well, things really perked up for a blink in the afternoon in Birsay. Prior to our visit (we could see the light on the horizon) we went round the parish. Geordie’s bin has been split by the bin boys, Raymond’s tumble dryer caught fire and was attended to by the Kirkwall fire brigade and ambulance. Raymond’s OK though; he still insisted in going for his ‘Orcadian’. Peter and Maureen have been going through a tough time – with great fortitude. Angus’ washing was hanging limply on the line (there was no sign of Eleanor’s ‘smalls’). Jean and Ivan will be visiting their family in New Zealand in January.
Folk are arriving from Stromness this evening for a meal; this means we are fully booked.
