Bare bottomed girls!

It makes sense when buying chickens to get all one colour, as there are less arguments in the hen house, and brown ones are the most reliable layers, but I do like the look of a mixed flock. I love the white Sussex hens, but they don't lay many eggs, and the black ones are so pretty that their feathers often shine iridescent green, but it's usually a huge mistake.
Last time the black chickens bullied the rest of the flock, but with these girls it's the black hens getting hen pecked by the brown ones! The poor little black hens have very bare bottoms, and only three tail feathers each, and now the brown ones are pecking the white chickens bottoms too.
They are going to be cold when the winter comes.
