Hoven Droven
We were out this evening at "Mats and Karin's", our wonderful locale for music, with food and drinks also available.
When you live out in the country it is so lovely to have such a place within walking distance (3 km to be exact), although this time Jan was recovering from a bug so we drove.
The warm-up band was young local musicians playing folk music, mostly from Sweden though they finished with some Balkan folk and then a little rock-folk. Wonderful to see such talented musicians continuing traditions and developing the genres.
After that the main group appeared - Hoven Droven. They've been playing together for 30 years and it really showed in their communication with each other and the audience. Their music roams the borders of folk and rock, with forays into jazz, and is mostly fairly wild and noisy. In my picture they are well into their second set. I've linked to some recent film on YouTube if you want to hear and see them in action.
In other news from the day I used the warm sunny daylight to do a bit more work on the outside of The Red House.
As usual life is good!
