Exploring

Went back across to the island with D at the start of his week, courtesy of the Seahunter and its skipper. First time I've really been able to explore the island in the absence of 5000 homicidal gulls! Went up to the far west end (Forth bridges direction) and then scrambled up the east end, which is a mess of decaying concrete buildings, searchlight batteries, gun emplacements etc (WWII). Cracking view from the top, though! Just remembered that looking in the other direction I could see the new aircraft carrier, the Prince of Wales, lurking up towards the mouth of the firth (see extra).

Once the last visitors had left D and I had the place to ourselves - what a treat!
