A Long Drink

Making the most of the sunshine this morning the Red Admiral was sipping a nectar cocktail on the ivy whilst we underneath were valiantly trying to get a mammoth shrub root ball out of the hard clay ground.


We ended up roping it to the tractor and surprisingly the huge root pulled straight out after a rather large ditch had been dug round it.; any other way would have taken forever as it had been in the ground for a few decades. 

This was followed by a trip to the garden centre to cast an eye over flowering low growing shrubs followed by the planting operation back at home. A great day especially as we have achieved so much!
