Boucan Canot

Today, my friends and I made the short journey from our hotel to the beach called Boucan Canot. It's a very popular tourist beach and was definitely the best that I've been to since I arrived here. There were lots of volcanic rocks everywhere and very nice sand and the weather was incredible - if a bit on the warm side. I did, however, almost manage to avoid getting any sunburn, but for a small patch on both wrists and the top of my left foot. One con of this beach is that swimming is completely banned as a result of the shark attacks which have happened here over the last few years, but I felt like I was unlikely to get attacked in shin high water so I paddled for a bit. This photo was taken by my friend Derrick from Minnesota just before I got pummelled by a very strong wave.
