Porzehütte to Hochweisssteinhaus
The guidebook we have for the Karnischer Höhenweg says that the route from the Porzehütte to Hochweisssteinhaus is a classic ridge walk with wonderful views that justify a trip Austria in its own right; no pressure there then. We were away early again and it was frosty and misty as we made our way up to the first col. From there we climbed east up towards the Bärenbadegg, and we got higher emerged out of the mist into clear, crisp and less cold air. To the north all the glens were cloud-filled but west and south it was patchier. The blip is a panorama from near the top of the hill looking south to south west over northern Italy. The rest of the day followed an excellent ridge with extensive views in all directions and apart from 90 minutes when there was a veil of high cloud it was sunny and warm. There are 2 extras, the first of views from the hills and the second one of nature. The guidebook had a good point.
Yesterday’s blip.
