Did anyone see the forecast?!

The forecast for the Kirkwhelpington area was for heavy rain all morning.It was wrong. Only 3 of the walkers for the visit to the Wind Farm were unable to come, leaving a delightful group of 8 walkers and the team of 3 to brave the elements.

It did rain, as you can see in this group photo at the start of the walk. The rain was fairly light and we were never soaked by it. Conditions underfoot were certainly "interesting" in the boggy bits, but we were all fine. Not one person fell in.

At the wind farm we had a small conducted tour and heard about the conservation work done before and after the turbines were erected. Then we had a talk about how they work. This was all done outside and it was a tad windy..........

People were fascinated and asked lots of questions.

The rest of the walk was partly through woods and then fields until the mini bus picked us up. We had a cuppa in Kirkwhelpington Village Hall.

Yes I am tired, but Arth and Aggie are fine.
