got cold wee hands
We were a bit late to see the Loony Dook, the participants of which were all out of the water and wandering back through the town by the time we got there but there was still the big bridge to go for a ride across, a process which took about twice as long as it usually does due to the large volumes of people trundling across it. Despite having had a sleep from three minutes outside to the door to the Cramond Brig he fell slightly asleep again on the way over but seemed to be paying attention on the way back.
I frequently check he's OK (or, quite often, still asleep) when out on the bike by turning round to peer at him when stopped or when the way ahead is unlikely to change for a second or by poking a hand backwards to hold one of his. He kept smiling back and didn't say anything was wrong but turned out to have wee hands sufficiently cold to make them painful to warm back up again when we got home. He has larger mitts which ought to go on over the top of these which he'll hopefully not resist wearing again. If there is resistance then it might be possible to use something like the things Nicky uses for the buggy, which can be Velcro'd in place.
